I am not dead!

I am alive! While the website has taken a back seat, it is not forgotten.
Long live photography!

Satanta Peak, sunset, and grace

The humble silhouette of Satanta Peak outlined by the last embers of the day.
I created this photo last summer while on an evening hike in the Indian Peaks.
We take so much for granted every day, yet God’s grace is always evident if you take the time to look.

Western Slope

I apologize for the lack of posts recently. Life has been busy and blessed!

Here’s a view of the mountains near Ouray, Colorado, with spring snow still clinging to their faces. There are so many stunning views along the western slope of the Rocky Mountains…

Denver Millenium Bridge

This architectural beauty crosses railroad tracks from the Union Station, at the northwest edge of downtown Denver. It’s the first bridge of its kind anywhere! Wikipedia has a great article on it here

Site redesign in-progress!

I’m in the process of redesigning the site again 🙂

I don’t like the mish-mash of a WordPress main page and a Zenphoto photo gallery.
I can definitely make it work, but it’s cludgy and uses more of my time to maintain – I currently have to upload the images and information to both separately!

The redesign is currently ‘live’ at imagesbymikel.com/zpt/.
It’s a work in progress, and I might even be working on it as you visit it, so things may look goofy.
In some ways it already surpasses the current site, and in others it has a ways to go.

Have a look and see what you think!

connections

Life is all about our connections to those around us.

rough day

It’s been a rough day, but they’re still hanging in there

nature is perfect

Nature can be soft
Nature can be brutal
We don’t always understand it,
but it is always perfect.

rain is a blessing

Who said rainy days were dreary? You just have to look in the right places.
(My prayers go out to those affected by flooding. Too much of a good thing can be just too much.)

The glory of morning

There is truly something magical about the dawn of a new day.
